December is upon us.

How did that happen? Our dear boy is now 1 year old and looking more like a little boy and less like a baby every day. I kind of jumped into Thanksgiving last time and left off lots of the cool little things that have been happening along the way, so I should rectify that. This might be a long post but seeing as how I’ve been so lax in the updates, that’s not a bad thing I guess. Heck, I even come back to the posts later to remember some of the details when I finally get around to scrapbooking our photos. Oh and I fixed some of the broken links in February’s photos.

11/8 - Tim got his braces off

Yay! After 3 years, Tim got his braces off. Bring on the popcorn and nuts. He’s very happy, although I can’t get him to give me a really big smile.

11/8 - Nicholas’ first haircut

Isabella needed a haircut so off we went to the Hair Cuttery. While we were there I asked about his hair and when/how I should go about trimming it. They put him in the chair with me and chop-chop got him trimmed up pretty good. He hated it completely. He wouldn’t let them trim his bangs so they did the best they could. He looks like a little boy now.

11/5 - Nikki’s baby shower

Nikki’s mom was in town to help us celebrate the upcoming birth of Baby Emerson. She’s still a few months off, but seems to be growing well. We’re all really excited about the newest baby. Unfortunately, the Abcarian’s are moving back to Dallas so I won’t know her as well as I know my other girls.

11/11 - Friendsgiving

What are we going to do about Friendsgiving when the Abcarian’s leave town? Our annual friend/Thanksgiving celebration will either be no more or radically altered. Do you think we can convince them to come back during Thanksgiving evey year? Hmmm. The kids all had a great time. Poor Drew was their personal play friend this year round. The girls had more fun playing than eating, but Gracie and Nick chowed down on all the food.

11/29 Nicholas first birthday

For Nicholas’ actual birth “day”, I made him french toast for breakfast and we went out for ice cream after Bella got out of school. The Abcarian’s came over that night and Aunt Kiki made him a chocolate cake with a helicopter on top. Once he figured out it was cake he was all over it. He and Grayson made short work of the cake and food. He wasn’t keen on the very loud singing of Happy Birthday though. He had that look that said “I want to cry, but I’m not going to, but maybe I will, or maybe this will be over soon.”

12/2 Nicholas’ Birthday Party

We celebrated Nicholas’ first birthday the following Saturday at the new house. The kids had an excellent time playing out in the back yard. We all came inside to eat then back outside to sing Happy Birthday (we learned from the first time) and have cake. We were all surprised and impressed that our boy ate the WHOLE cake. It was no small feat. Slowly but surely though, he devoured it all.

12/3 Aurora’s bday party

The following day, Aurora had a birthday party at the Little Gym. The kids all had a great time. Isabella was excited to hang out with Maria and to play at the Little Gym. Nicholas seemed to be confused as to why we were there and where was his class, but soon joined in the fun. When the birthday song started, he ran right into the break room and sidled himself up to the table to get some cake. The kid learns fast.

12/7 New Wagon

We didn’t get Nicholas too much for his first birthday. He inherited all of Bella’s toys so there wasn’t much he needed. We did, however, get him a red wagon for the two of them to go for rides in. They both enjoy going back and forth to the mailbox and around our trails. I’ve also found it’s a way to get groceries in the house and keep Nicholas contained at the same time.

12/9 Dady Christmas party

We decided this year that we would host the annual “friends” Christmas party. Only a week after Nicholas’ party, it was a little like deja vous. We went with a Secret Santa exchange and after all the presents were handed out, everyone got something to open. It was nice and the kids had a great time. Isabella had Alyssa sleep over that night and the girls were up all night long.

12/10 Cousin pics

The day after the Christmas party we celebrated Alana’s birthday with a surprise party at Tim and Kay’s complex. Isabella and Alyssa wore their “brown eyed girl” t-shirts. I had a chance to take a picture of all four Dady cousins next to the tree.
