So I should have updated sooner

You know what they say. I finally posted the update to the site and Nicholas decided he would crawl. He’s not crawling a lot but he had full forward momentum and used the army crawl and a knee/arm crawl to get himself to one of Isabella’s toys. Then he proceeded to pull himself over to the bouncy seat and up into a downward dog yoga style position of which he was quite delighted. He’s now quarantined to the exersaucer for a few minutes so I can answer email, post and update and check in with work without him getting himself into a predicament. Doesn’t it just figure that right when I say he’s not doing something he goes and does it? Does that say something about his personality or what we’re going to have to deal with in the future? One can only hope

Less than a month until my birthday!

It’s been a while since an update but I have uploaded some new pictures. I am busy (what else is new) but it is also one month until my birthday! Yay! I love my birthday. We are going to have a Pampered Chef party that Friday after my birthday and then a little pool party following it. Invitations will be out soon. Basically if you don’t want to come to the pampered chef thing then just show up around 8. Otherwise, feel free to join in. It’ll be at my parents house and should be fun.

Since you really don’t want to hear about me, let’s talk kids. Isabella is in summer school right now and enjoying it. She’s doing art projects non stop and having a ball bringing home all her pictures and art to me. I need to scan in the picture she did of our family. It is so cute. She’s getting really good at writing her name small now and takes pride in it. She’s getting tall so quickly. We ran across some old pictures from Cindy’s harddrive and she was probably about 11 months old. I can’t believe how quickly time has gone by. We took the kids to Sea World last weekend and she was tall enough to go on one of the new Happy Harbor rides all by herself. She was so proud.

Nicholas is doing well as well. His two front bottom teeth both broke through in the last week and he has already figured out how to use them (ouch!) Mommy and Nick are coming to an agreement about the use of teeth during nursing. He has also figured out how to pull himself upright and is just plum pleased as punch. He won’t crawl but he’ll stand. He actually can crawl he just does it in circles. He likes to push himself up to sit on his knees and play. He’s a great little guy (I’m only a little biased) and so much fun.

New pics are up for June. I was disappointed because I hadn’t recharged my camera for Father’s Day photos in the morning with my Dad. He brought over bagels and had a chance to play with the kids before heading back to South Carolina. In the evening we went to see Granny and Grandpa and we got lots of good pictures there.

Friday, already!

In the words of Quincy (watch Little Einsteins, people!) “I can not believe it!” It seems this week has flown by and somehow I am just more tired by each day passing. Isabella is heading to Parent’s Survival Night at her gym tonight and Nicholas is going to have some Granny time so Tim and I can go on a date. Isn’t that nice? We’re going to actually see a movie. Although at this point I would almost prefer to just take a nap. Tim’s fathers day gift has shown up (Yay!) so I don’t have to worry about that anymore which is nice.

Nicholas ran a fever for a whole ? hour last night. He was happy during it, just couldn’t sleep. Of course that was at 1:30 in the morning. The kidlet finally fell asleep on the couch with me and Isabella (who woke up and joined us in the living room.) He was good the rest of the night and has been really happy today. We’re hoping to take the kids swimming in the afternoon to get some of their boundless energy expended. It couldn’t hurt!

As of yesterday, Nicholas started transitioning from sitting to his knees for crawling. He’s a little yogi. He stretches forward as far as he can and reaches and reaches and then all of a sudden he’s on his knees. He then of course rocks for a few seconds and loses his knees out from under him and is flat on the floor again. He’s trying so hard and has all the skills it’s just a matter of everything coming together and he’ll be off. He’s trying to pull himself up on his toys and is getting himself in an upright position but can’t handle the balance once he gets there.
